thanks, im running honda civic(02-05 iirc). i started with a gts. since you have an sr5, start right at the beginning, with the sr5-gts writeup link. your going to have to figure out what from the gtsr5 swap needs to be utilized with the 20v swap.

haha cali...i got one of you 86's, and your not getting it back.

And they fit right in? Did you get them with the clips also? Also where did you buy from and the cost if I may ask also.

yeah, basically they fit right in, i trimmed the upper gasket slightly. i got them complete from a friend who works as a mechanic at a honda dealer for free, but you can usually find them with pigtails in the area of $50 shipped.

WOW!
I just read through the entire thread.
Great write-up and thanks for sharing your wisdom!
Question: I am a corolla AE86 "noob"
and a car "noob" in general, but...
Did you have to do anything to your gauge cluster?
(Install anything/modify anything/change anything?)
Also, what about exhaust?
(Did you have to purchase a special RWD 20v header etc.?)
Thanks again for sharing all of your info, for "noobs" like me to learn from!

if its an sr5, you either need a gts cluster OR wire a CEL light to the sr5 cluster.

the exhaust i used is an obx with a 20v flange, theres a few companies that make them, or just slot the holes at either end of the flange to mate it to the 20v head

I've got a zenki GTS, so I wouldn't have to change anything about gauge cluster?
The 20v would run right off of it like a normal 16v?
For the exhaust, would this work?>http://forums.club4ag.com/zerothread?id=111352
Thanks

correct, BUT you need to swap over the oil pressure sensor. the water temp sensor will work, 20v or 16v(i tested that).

as for the flange-yes. many, including myself, have just slotted the 16v flange and used a washer with the bolt for safe keeping. or you can buy the obx rwd 20v header, there might be a few others out there, but the names escape me at the moment.

Thanks, I guess...
That's why the pros get paid the big bucks, there's a sh!tload to do, so either be ready and go for it, or don't even start it yourself. Some are down for the work, others aren't...
I tried to make this guide as helpful as possible, with as much info as possible. I don't mind helping, but I'm not holding hands.

this is an awesome thread, ive decided to go from my plan to swap in my aw11 4agze to a 20vBT. ill def be going over this thread a few times before i get started. question, did you use the stock 20c BT ecu? or an aftermarket one? i may use an aftermarket one to tune with some basic bolt ons and get the most i can get out of the 20v.
