 Sr5 options? Reply  Edit

I'm trying to go over my options. Would it be better to rebuild my 4ac and turbo it? Well can I even do that? Or would it be a better route to do a 4ag 16v swap and just boost that??

Obv I'm looking to boost the motor. Just wanna know which would be the better choice for me to do. Thanks guys.

i think that it would be better to do a 4age 16v turbo, and get a megasquirt 2 to tune it right, that should give you a reliable setup and more power, this is just my opinion I'm sure others will have different ideas

Well thats what I was looking at. just not the megasquirt2. i never heard of that lol. I was thinking it be best to drop a 16v in it. Prep it for boost and turbo it. I never read of anyone doing it with an sr5. Maybe sumone with an sr5 will end up hitting me up lol. I found a complete swap with transmission, ecu, allll wireing and everything for 900. Just gotta find out shipping. Think thats pretty good?? I dnno tho..

Yeah, you're going to need the whole gts swap if you're going to convert your car to 4ag. $900 bucks isn't a bad deal for all those pleces, but make sure you read up on the How To Sticky on converting your car to GTS. Now through experience via a friend of mine i help, the 4AG with the stock wiring harness can hold boost from 6 to 8 pounds safely on stock ecu. U will need bigger injectors, i think he used 220cc or 230cc injectors. I don't have dyno figures, but his TE was really quick boosted, way faster than my 86.

But if you're planning on boosting more than that you're going to have to use a stand a programable ECU system. Just keep that in mind.
