FRS/BRZ and Insurance Topic Reply  Edit

For those who are lucky to get one and people are in the Insurance Industries, how much coverage and cost is the FRS/BRZ is to be insured? I know you have to get Full Coverage and it does vary depending on your driving history and location of where you live. But I would love to hear. How they classified this car and cost of coverage should be interesting.

My Friends and I were talking about as we were also talking about insurance of our AE86s,MR2s,etc. Funny in a sense since that our AE86 are Corolla and it is pretty cheap. Even Miata's were average cheaper than our AE86. lol. I always wanted to get in the minds of what Insurance are thinking.

Thanks.

If you are spending/financing close to $30k on a car and you are concerning about insurance, I say you are living beyond your means.

I would think the ins premium will be somewhere between a new Hyundai Genesis and a used Lotus Elise.

Call your broker, tell them you were thinking about getting one. What would it cost and how is it rated.

2 door sedan
4 passenger
new car=unknown repair costs=higher.
no bumpers, so again it may be higher.
"sports car" if they define it by hp or otherwise, again higher

All the insurers look at similar criteria. And of course, $30k worth of car, instead of $2500 worth of car.
