intercooler for aw11 4agze swap. Author Post dabay209 Member Offline 769 posts [99%] lodi ca  intercooler for aw11 4agze swap. 9:36 PM 6/10/2012 Reply  Edit i was doing some research and was trying to find out what oil cooler i would need. im sure the gts one is not good enough and i looked at some online but was told that if i go too big that my engine will never reach the optimal operating temperature (180) like if i used the FC oil cooler it would only reach 140. any help or confirmation would be great. thank you.

(dabay209) » 3:29 AM 6/11/2012 Reply  Edit Why wouldn't the stock cooler work? The JDM AE92 GTZ didn't even had an oil cooler! On the GT-S, only a small part of the oil is actually cooled (there's a pressure sensitive valve wich only let's a small part of the oil throught the cooler if there's enough pressure) so If you need more cooling, I would route the oil so that is always went through the cooler or, even better, use a thermostatic valve instead of a pressure sensitive valve. Think its 13 x 3.5 x 2 inches , that's about the smallest I see on sale on eBay. If you don't have high oil temps to begin with, any oil cooler will do just fine.
