Technical drawing of the head gasket Reply  Edit

I've build a hi comp setup and it wasn't long before my pos head gasket crapped out on me. So i got the idea of having a copper head gasket made, as i've previously done for other engines. Problem is i can't find any schematic or technical drawing of the 16v head gasket. If anyone happend to have one og have a link etc it would be great.

Thanks in advance

How much would that cost you? I would just go with Cometic or HKS. You can order them in different thicknesses, too, for the right compression ratio.

Well once i have the drawings and have made a program i could make the gaskets for about 20$ a piece.

The difference is that copper gaskets lasts longer and can withstand the hi comp setups alot better.

SCE already has a pattern and can make solid copper from .8mm upto 2.4mm

True you save money but how does it compare to say a Cometic on longevity/dependability?

If you get your surfaces smooth enough its the best gasket you'll ever get. Both in terms of dependability and longetivity. And unlike graphite gaskets they're fully reusable.

Via my work i've gotten in touch who cuts these gaskets. He mainly builds rally cars and restores minis and old fords. Since he has gotten the tools to cut them he hasn't used regular gasket.

He will cut the gaskets for me, but meassuring it and getting the coordinates for the programs that run the machine takes alot longer than actually making it.
So i was wondering if someone had done it before, which could save me some time.
