Running no sway bars. Reply  Edit

considering removing one or both of my sway bars.

Any of you dudes done this before? opinions? experiences? which one(s) did you take out?

car setup is as follows.

stock 16v w/ header and exhaust
greddy type S coils 8k/6k
T3 lower control arms
T3 roll center adjusters
T3 tension rods
Battle Version 4 link
Battle version pan hard
Battle version traction brackets
manual rack, ps knucks, spacers, and stock inner/outer tie rods.

I run 14's with 185/60 all seasons (ze512 mostly)

I've heard that some people really like getting rid of the rear, or both sway bars, been considering trying it but I want to hear some testimonials first.

this would be for drifting, obviously.

I wouldn't... it can make the car pretty unpredictable during transitions. No rear works good for grip though IIRC.

Spring rates will also have an affect, if your running 9-10k or something really high up front a sway bar won't have AS much of an effect but it'll still be noticeable difference. Rear probably 7-9k or higher.

But with rates that high the ride will be REALLY harsh and unforgiving.

I didn't run a rear bar with my 10k fronts and 8k rears. It helped the car recover more from high angle, and made it transition real quick.

I've been reading that about the rear on here but it's all hearsay. I'd really like to know which works better for grip.

How is it hearsay? I just told you that I don't run one.

Try it for yourself, drop a link for a lap or two.
