top feed conversion for BT Reply  Edit

I did a quick search and couldn't find anyone who had done it.

I'm not looking for bigger injectors or more fuel, I'm looking for better spray pattern aka better atomization.

Has anyone seen a kit or made a custom set up?

The Blacktop setup is acutally pretty good you just have to modify the intake port of your head a little for mixture where the gas meets the air...You can always plug the injector holes and do a setup where the injectors spray into the front of the TB's like you see on some FA setups....its only good for about 5 hp though and the cost is pretty pricy for such a little gain...Why are you wanting to change this up as its not really necessary unless your trying to squeeze every hp possible out of a fully modified engine.

Better atomization can equate to better power across the band.
The gantry set up from the FA is just not realistic for a street car, so I would like to bring in a more effective injector spray pattern.

Are you going for an aftermarket high end injector that's only available in top feed or something?
I have never found any info anywhere that said top feeds were in any way superior to side feeds. In fact side feeds have many advantages of their own.

I have been unable to find a side feed with an updated pintle design and better spray pattern. The fact of top feed or side feed doesn't really matter to me in fact if I could find what I'm looking for in side feed it would save me a lot of effort. Top feeds are cheap and easy to find that's why I thought someone may have made a conversion.

Is this upgraded spray pattern only found in aftermarket injectors? Do you have any information on this or proof that the change actually is worth anything?
Considering most manufactures and most cars seem to have switched over to side feed 10-15 years ago I would question why a top feed would be better.
Also if there was a superior design I have a hard time believing someone like Denso who has been making injectors for decades and whos success would rely on being at the forefront of technology would leave an available upgrade on the table.

top feed or side feed doesnt make a difference in spray pattern or performance that i havent seen. Its always dirty injectors that affect performance. Only thing is injector postition such as gantry set up is that fuel is given more time to atomize before it enters the cylinder thus better and faster combustability. But honestly you dont see much performance out of a stock motor compression with that setup. Your stock inj is more than good enough for a n/a setup. You can run pig rich at wot on the dyno very easily.

Bu~t since were on topic of conversion....

I have recently been stuck on this issue for a long time looking for a conversion due to the MASSIVELY larger option i could run for top feed compared to side feeds. I was looking for alternative injectors for turbo build and came up with nothing other than 1j 2j 3s injectors.

Downshift1 - i could make a billet fuel rail for our 20v and run top feed but it gets in way of the throttle linkage. Best bet is to just run either a peak n hold inj out of another car such as a 3s or2j 1j which are 440 to 550cc depending on generation of engine OR other option is take inj to a specialist and have them modify injectors for you.

Hope this helps a bit in looking for injectors you want to run because i had a hell of a time looking for sidefeeds.... lol... yoshimitsu speed knows too ive asked the question already...
