 20v head with carbs?

 20v head with carbs? Reply  Edit


i have been wondering this for some time now and i can't find anything out. i'm almost positive it can't be done but a friend of mine thinks otherwise. could you put a twin carb intake on a 20v head? help me settle this argument

You could with the right adapter plate but why?
It would be like putting horseshoes on your tires.

i said the same thing a while back, but the guy that did it made some impressive #'s with the carbed 20v, as archaic as it was.

You might be able to tune a carbed motor to come close to rivaling EFI but the real problem is that if you change the barometric pressure or altitude slightly, even changes in humidity, temp or weather conditions and suddenly the carbed motor will start falling much shorter.

sure it can be done...the 20v is like any other engine out there you just need the proper intake manifold
