This is the OEM spoiler(term "wing" is incorrect) The TRD one lays back more and has more aero shape to add some downforce. Spoilers are just that... they spoil the airflow over the car to reduce lift.....

i would first find out whether your friend wants an acutal wing, or if he wants a lip spoiler.

as far as lip spoilers go, most of the aerodynamic kit manufacturers make some. some of my favorites are the vertex and origin ones.

Actually your the one who has it incorrect. A spoiler is used to difuse air. These are the types that have a cutout inbetween, which is used to disrupt existing airflow patterns. Stock AE92 spoiler:http://www.ae92gts.com/images/cam_ae92rear.jpg

A wing is what resembles an airfoil like on an air plane "wing", its used to influence an airflow pattern around a certain portion of the vehicle.

AE86 Coupe TRD wing in carbon fiber. Avaible also in FRP and fiberglass.

i agree with oldeskewltoy.. is if look into aerodynamics is obvious that is made to put some downforce into the rear of the car.

That's what i'm running. Looks the best IMO. The trd spoiler looks a little retarded on the coupe. I looks really big and ricey looking on a coupe, it doesn't flow with the car at all and just sticks out. Looks much nicer and fits a hatch better.

The BMW lips are obviously strictly for looks. With the TRD wings I actually think they look great on coupes (and hatches), and likely influence some sort of downforce on the rear.

And they give it just the right amount of flamboyancy to the car. AE86 kind of look boring without it.

Not to knock your love of the TRD spoiler, but honestly how many of us are going so fast in these 100hp corollas that downforce is an issue? This really is just a cosmetic thing and some will vote for OEM, or TRD, or whatever. Keep that corolla looking clean! The BMW lip is just an option that I'm sure many people are not yet aware of and can be found in a junkyard for alot cheaper than what some companies will charge for a TRD or OEM copy.

(it only took 5 min to remove it from the car)

..yes, I am regreting now...did you have to modify the length?
I like the "simple look" very much..!

the length doesn't need to be modified at all. A buddy at work installed the same spoiler on his coupe and the only thing i recommend is to do what he did and shave the underside of the spoiler at the ends. The spoiler is maybe 1/2" longer than the width of the trunk and it can make little wear marks on the top of the rear quarter panel when you shut the trunk. Shave the underside of the spoiler a tiny bit so that it never contacts the quarter panel and you're legit.

I'm looking for a fiberglass TRD coupe wing too.

Jose, if you look on hachiroku.net, there's a company making an integrated carbon/FRP trunk and spoiler combination in Washington.

Go here:
Driveline Store - Aftermarket AE86 Parts

They have fiberglass, carbon fiber, molded fiberglass hatch replacement, and molded carbon fiber hatch replacements. But never bought anything from them, so I dont know their quality... yet.

Thanks for that link. I was going to buy from a SoCal company but I recently learned that they scammed many people. Online retailers are scary!

Company was called Modified or something. Please correct me if you know, I don't want to slander a good company.

*edit*

Actually that website looks like the same one as modifiedinc.com, the same company that owns the picture posted above of the TRD wing on the Corolla in carbon fiber. So, I'm not going to place an order on driveline store until someone knows they are good.

Well as I said, I dont have any experience with their customer service or quality of parts. Thats the specific reason I posted that. They do use PayPal, so thats always a little bit of insurance.

If they are local to you, you can easily ask for local pickup and to pay in person. Then tell us how their shop looked.

Not a bad idea, and although ebay/paypal is a rip off, it is pretty safe to use.

No...Paypal is-not-safe. Myself and about 5 other C4AG got scammed in the beginning of this year by another member.

Paypal did nothing. If the seller takes all the money out of there account...your out of luck....yup, thats the facts
