weird, my 16V thermostat was too small for my 20V housing. I had to use a SW20 thermostat.

I used a 4afe thermostat on my silvertop.

Thermostat 90916-03090 All 4A

Maybe you have some weird housing or you mixed up the two thermostats?

make sure you are using the correct rubber o-ring gasket. that is probably whats giving you issues.

i'm not sure if they offer it aftermarket, go with OEM for the seal if it isn't the one that slips over the thermostat lip.

Hey Jason,

The Silvertop's belt has 111 teeth the Blacktop has 110 teeth (counted 2 times each to make sure). I also tried to put on the BT belt on the ST engine just out of curiosity doesn't work. I did the same for the ST belt on the BT and it works but looks like the hydraulic tensioner won't extend far enough to put tension on the belt. So to answer your question they will not work for each other.

Actually when I bought my water relocation kit it came with a thermostat. The thermostat it came with was TOO BIG FOR THE RELOCATION KIT. It fit in the blacktop stock place, but NOT the kit itself! haha...

I put my SR-5 Thermostat in the water kit. (I had just replaced it like 3 months before I did the swap, couldn't handle the winter anymore, lol)

alternate timing belt for Silvertop is a Buick Skylark belt
GoodYear #40081(can be cross-referenced to another manufacturer at your local auto parts store)
it costs about $20

20v Ignitor/Coil assembly is the same part number as a 1990-1995 Toyota 4Runner. make sure the ignitor says "201" on it though, in green.

well I am happy to hear you found that pic useful, it had been around before but I stitched it together before uploading it.

A Lada Samara also has a compatible timing belt as a silver-top. It is a gates code T811
