Compilation of 20v oem and nonoem plug and pin part numbers Reply  Edit

Here are most of the 20v's (and many other toyota's) nonoem part numbers. There are 3 main manufacturers involved:

Yazaki:

Igniter 7283-1056-30
knock 7283-1015-10
coil 7283-8226-30
airtemp 7283-1224-10
vvt 7283-7526-40

recepticle tab/terminal 7116-4025
seal 7157-3646

Sumitomo:

evap 6189-0249
injector 6189-0573
map 6189-6912
camposition (will update)
O2 (will update)

Tyco:

12pin ecu plug 917978-1
16pin ecu plug 917981-1
22pin ecu plug 917989-1
26pin ecu plug 917992-1
tps plug 178399-2
watertemp 178392-6

ecu recepticle tab/terminal small 175265-1
ecu recepticle tab/terminal large 175269-1

So there's 90% of the connectors and parts in a 20v harness. Other toyota harnesses have a lot of this stuff in common.

Most of these can be had from various suppliers around the internet. I'm working with a supplier who will provide them all at once to simplify things. I really don't want to be in the electrical supply business. Basically it will allow a "new" option with my harnesses. Of course, with this info, even a Diy'er will have "new" capabilities.

Some of these connectors are readily available in the junkyard. For example, the map and iat plugs can be found on nearly any toyota that used a map sensor.

Not the exact same set, no. There are a few sets that can be adapted to fit, but the boots and wires are too long.

You can order a 20v cap and wire set directly from toyota. Just call Aaron at lithia toyota. It only costs a little more than other toyota wire sets.

Magnecor makes, or made an aftermarket set. From what I remember it was pricey though.

I can look up that 1zz coil plug number when I get home.

Pricing on a completely new set of 20v plugs from toyota comes to $125. So if you want a harness made with new plugs, just add an additional $125 to my normal $350.

So anybody wanting to go that route because they don't have a harness, let me know. With my service, I provide brand new terminals and wire much of the time anyway.

Another option for those who don't have a 20v harness, but want a little bit cheaper alternative to ordering the connectors, I allow people to substitute 93-97 4/7afe harnesses in place of the 20v harness. I have done this on a number of occasions with great results. The 4/7afe harness has 85% of the same connectors that the 20v harness has. I have the missing ones on hand, which I supply as part of the service.

93-97 corolla customers don't have to send me a 20v harness at all.

With the majority of toyota plugs, there's a little number printed on them. Add the prefix 90980- and there's your part number.

This works on most plugs made since 1990. Prior to 1990 you have to refer to the toyota wiring harness repair manual for part numbers. Basically, you have to identify your plug.

A lot of these replies should either be PM'd or on another topic. Let's keep this about connectors.

I see on the website (Ballenger Motorsports) they you can buy with or without pins/ seals. Do the OEM kits come with the seals and pins too? Thanks.

Ballenger motorsports is a great place to get small (or large) quantities of this stuff.

Oem connectors don't have terminals or seals. It's just a housing.

What if I needed a Tyco Electronics connector off a toyota yaris? I've been looking all over for a single unit of 82824-52330 (tyco number 175964-1) and dealership says they can't order it despite it having a part number...

My RHDJapan.com receipt said: "Your order # is: 100001986". The AE86 gods really are looking out for me.

If you want to order a plug from the dealer, there's usually a number printed on the plug. Take that number down and add the suffix 90980, and there's your part number. Toyota plugs are usually $5-7

The connector for most of the late 90's and 2000's coil on plug coil packs is part# 90980-11885 which is the connector with pigtail wiring.
