The metal head gasket had some compression leaks in the fourth cylinder and I disassembled it and had to resurface the block since there were some imperfections that boosted the leak.

Ordered a TODA flywheel, Paradise racing 6puk sprung clutch, Whiteline lateral bar, 4.778 gear kit and Greddy Coilovers. Still waiting for the coilovers though.

Right now, everything is assembled, sold my suspension setup and car is not running til the coilovers arrive.

My setup right now is something like this:

Engine:

- MAP Bluetop 4A-GE with stock bottom end
- 264/264 HKS 8.1mm Camshafts
- Bronze valve guides
- Ported and shaved (0,6mm) head
- 3 angle valve job
- TRD 0,5 mm metal head gasket
- Removed TVIS
- Overclocked ECU to 8400 rev limit (yet to see if it works)
- Tsudo Headers with 2 1/4" exhaust
- TRD Spark Plug Wires
- Beru Silverstone Spark plugs
- Monster Flow air filter

Drivetrain

- TODA Flywheel
- Paradise Racing 6puk sprung clutch
- Tomei 2 way LSD
- 4.778 gear kit

Suspension

- Greddy Coilovers (waiting)
- Whiteline lateral bar
- Prothane bushing kit
- T3 RCA's
- Front strut bar

Brakes

- Front: Brembo discs with Ferodo brake pads
- Rear: Stock discs with Pagid brake pads
- Goodridge Brake lines all around
- Stock rebuilt calipers

Wheels

- Konig Rewind Bronze 15x7 offset 0 with Yokohama A539 195/50
- ATS Classic 15x7 offset +10 with Semi Slick Avon ACB10 195/45

Gadgets

- Apexi SAFC1
- NGK Powerdex Wideband AFR meter

Maybe some other things I can't remember

Anyway, doing a little introduction after all these pictures... my name is Andre, I'm 26 and I'm a Civil Engineer. I'm from Portugal (Europe) and I'm a long time club4ag reader (4-5 years). Never posted pics of my entire project and thought it was about time.

Bought this car back in 2003 and have been workin on it since.

Best regards

7 months since disassembly. But some work has been done afterwards...

Meanwhile, some problems to take care of have came along.

Wow, that's crazy! I'm guessing those are the stock pistons? I don't think you mentioned anything about aftermarket pistons... Do you know what could of caused the ring lands to break like that? Would that be from running too lean or something along those lines?

Pistons were stock with around 100k miles. I really don't know what caused this.

Uhh, bigger cams leaned you out and you detonated? Maybe. Nice build, be sure to get a solid tune after the rebuild and post up some numbers with a quickness! And could you clarify what CV is from your previous dyno post?
