One of the best rebuild threads i have ever seen. You just didnt do the engine but you did the full frame.

I like the way how you properly paint the car(from stripping it, sandblasting, to even the underbody) Kudos to you and pops. Like someone else said too, you do have pleny of cool tools to do the FULL Rebuild.

Must feel nice to having a brand new AE86 in this time of age.

Ok so I've been away for quite some time mostly due to working. But the engine is now up and running. I haven't been driving it since its winter but it'll be ready at spring. It still needs a few things: Brakes, MOT and a proper tune...

This tuesday we had our anniversary: The same AE86 for ten years

Thanks for the comments while I've been away BTW!

Oilpressure is now ok with the bigger hoses d:)b
The new radiator is mounted as is the plenum:

I need to shine up a filter box but the setup is working and it is very smooth and quiet.

It is more or less ready to be tuned on the dyno on monday d:)b

Sorry I haven't had time to send you the tune. It's on my other computer.

What made you choose to use an air box?

I'm slightly dissapointed with the dyno result:

(The hand drawn one - the other is a 16V with 258/262 cams and ITBs)

This is with intake box and kat from a swiess AE86. I'm pretty sure one of these is restricting the flow since the curve is so flat at high rpms. I'll have to do some experiments on this

Grant: I need the car relativly quiet to drive the Nürburgring and the local trackdays

T3 adjustable bar

Testfitted my TE37s

But the Toyo R888 are too wide to fit under stock arches

So either I have to trim off 5 mm off each panel, drop the wheels or find some other tires...

A couple of friends and I just bought a Lexus IS/RS200 AZ6 gearbox each to fix the ratio isues of the T50.

The plan for now is to make an adaptor plate to fit between engine and gearbox or weld the T50 bellhouse to the AZ. The Leen kit looks great but is just way to expensive... To be continued

Hi Jan,
I'm Jon,

Would you mind saying what degree your cams were set? Also the combustion specs for your engine. Looking at the (upper graph) the output is rising and falling quite a bit. This indicates that something other than flow is creating a restricting condition. I'm sure you figured this by now, but from one tuner to another I'd like to help if I can.

Hi Jon. The engine is a completely stock black top. I'm running my ignition like this:

I didn't do anything about it yet - I just enjoyed driving it last year

Yeah I'm sure it will be awesome! And thanks!

Cutting the 10 mm plate was a ******:

Now we just need to have the parts welded:

To do:
Welding
Finding a clutch cylinder that will fit
Custom cross member
Custom drive shaft
Speedo drive
Mounting AZ6
Beat the h*** out of it
