at first i thought they should try to get some old styling cues.

then i looked at how ford, chevy, and dodge did that. made me remember how i wanted to throw up when i saw all them.

if they made this thing look like an 80's corolla i bet they would sell a handful. made a good looking car that fits the market? thats marketing. its allll marketing, now matter how much they say its not.

for a new car it looks pretty good, but yeah subaru engines sound kinda .
easily fixed with equal length headers, couldnt even tell the difference.

This latest concept takes cues from the 2000GT. I can see it and like 'em.

yeah i can definately tell in the high front fender arches, but at least they kept it subtle.

its so easy for them to overdo it with all those classic cues and ruin a new car.

are you so worried about it being a scion that its a bad car?

you should be glad, badging it scion will probably lower the price tag a bit.

half the people that are worried about it being badged a scion probably ****** about getting the wrong brand of bottled water too.

did you also ever think that if they badged it as a toyota it may not even sell because of the bs about the brakes? people still believe toyota is killing people with their cars. stupid but thats the public.

who gives a crap what they label it as? a good car is a good car.
example: i HATE ford with a passion, but i love the new mustang. it is an awesome car. so why should it matter?

I went to the autoshow on sat. I saw the car and was like wow what a car. I spoke to the guy that was answering question regarding the car. I ask him why go with a Subaru engine and he said to me that Toyota own 40% of Subaru. I then said to him that Toyota had plenty of good engines that they could put in, He then said that nothing was in stone yet. I then told him that if the car didnt produce at least 200 hp it coulnt compete with the hyundai Genesis 2.0 turbo or all the car similar to it. He then said that the car would most likelly not be close to that. I think that the FR-S is good for toyota if the price stays at the 25k that is suppose to sell. Im not saying that it should have 300 hp but in my eyes it should have at least 225hp to be a good sell along with the 6spd tranny. A similar engine as the Altezza.

It seems like a lot of people are overlooking the engineering/design...with the Scion badge. I rather see how it performs out on the track. Maybe that'll peep down the haters

no, you got me all wrong... im angry because this car is supposed to be the "spirit" of AE86
the name/badge of Scion is less inspiring than Toyota which has history and passion behind it

and im pretty sure badging it scion it wouldn't make it less expensive as previously stated but idk

lol ae86 is a 25 year old COROLLA. an econobox that they made sporty. there is no magical aura or spirit.

if you are looking to get a car you will like, you cant go around thinking that a new car will be anything like an iconic old cult car. you have to distance the two and judge it based on how fun that individual car is. NO new car will ever be like the light 2 door coupes from the 80's. safety standards simply will not allow it.

doesnt mean it cant be fun though.

5 years ago i would have never thought to buy a hyundai, they always felt cheap and loose to me. but just look at the new genesis..

im not holding my breath on the release of this car... its been hearsay for so long i kinda doubt it will be coming out... with the tragedies that recently happened in japan, im sure delays will continue to come up, you can read any website you want but until it reaches U.S. Soil its hard to invest any ounce of my interest into it.

lol It's better than having the subie motor. The car weighs too much for a little 4 cylinder so in my opinion an inline 6 would do this thing justice. Just the sound of the 2J would be sick with this car.
